I'm a retired photojournalist whose work has appeared in various publications such as the Daily Times, Associated Press, The Christian Science Monitor, Athens Banner-Herald, Anderson Independent, Creative Loafing, and Georgia and Delmarva magazines.
My career took me around the world, including five years—on and off—spent documenting life and conditions in developing countries. I felt most alive when I was out in the world, camera in hand, chasing the story.
I was fortunate enough to be able to take extended periods of time off to travel and pursue long-term projects. There was an era when newspapers still made space for seasoned photojournalists willing to follow a story wherever it led. Those days are gone. With shrinking budgets and the rise of digital media, I retired at the right time.
These days, I live in a quiet cabin on a beautiful mountain with my soulmate of forty years and our four cats. While he creates his art, I spend my time organizing decades of photographs, scanning old negatives, and weaving the journeys of my past into stories I hope future generations will enjoy.
